I have a sit on top type kayak that has a tiny hole near one of the drain holes due to scraping over rocks in rivers. you might want to try silicone sealant if it's a small hole and there's not too much flex at the point of repair. i've got a sit-on-top kayak too, and i know the plastic is a lot thicker, so the silicone is less likely to. For smallish holes you want to get some polyethylene welding rod (presuming the boat is polyethylene) for large holes you need to get a patch. the basic idea is to melt the rod into the hole using a hot air gun or hot metal. as you've melted two of the same material together this repair should be very strong.. Would anybody have experience repairing composite (fiberglass/epoxy) kayak. i am concidering bying a used kayak that has a round hole a the bottom of ca 8 mm in diameter..
